Subject    : Mandatory Requirement for Seafarers on Gambian Registered Vessels 1st January 2026

To    : Ship Owners / Managers / Operators / Port State Control Authorities /Local Agents/ Recognized Organizations / Deputy Registrars and all related maritime entities 

We wish to inform you that, effective 1st January 2026, all seafarers working aboard Gambian registered vessels are required to acquire a Seaman Discharge Book and a Medical Certificate issued by the Gambia Maritime Administration.  
This measure is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with national and international maritime safety and labor standards. Failure to adhere to this requirement may result in the non-acceptance of crew members on Gambian vessels and other administrative actions.  

We humbly request your cooperation in ensuring that all seafarers under your agency or management obtain the necessary documentation before deployment on Gambian registered vessels.
